Inside Microsoft’s Copilot Updates for Human-Centred AI

-

In its latest Fall 2025 update, Microsoft positions Copilot not just as a tool, but as an “AI companion” built around human needs rather than the other way around. According to Mustafa Suleyman, CEO of Microsoft AI, the aim is clear: “technology should work in service of people. Not the other way around. Ever.” Microsoft+2AI Magazine+2 Faced with a landscape of AI hype, scepticism and concern, Microsoft emphasises optimism and empowerment. The blog notes that the Fall release is a “big step forward in making AI more personal, useful and human-centred.” Microsoft+1 The underlying shift is from automating human tasks to amplifying human potential: helping users think, plan and create—with AI that adapts to context, remembers what matters, and listens rather than simply responds. AI Magazine+1  A key feature of this update is shared collaboration via a new “ Groups ” function. Up to 32 people can now participate in a Copilot session together—with the assistant summarising threads, g...

Designing and 3D printing gradients, where 2 materials gradually blend from one to another, is extremely difficult. Conventional computer-aided design (CAD) software tends to assume that the same material exists within the boundaries of the different areas within a 3D design and struggle to produce objects with truly continuous gradients. AI for Mental Health Monitoring

-
Image
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing the field of healthcare, and mental health is no exception. With the increasing prevalence of conditions such as depression, anxiety, and stress-related disorders, the need for effective monitoring systems has become critical. Traditional methods often rely on clinical interviews, self-reports, and observations, which can sometimes be subjective and limited. AI introduces new opportunities by enabling continuous, data-driven, and personalized monitoring. Through advanced techniques such as natural language processing, machine learning, and deep learning, AI can analyze diverse data sources, including speech, facial expressions, social media activity, and wearable device outputs. This allows for early detection of symptoms and more accurate assessments. The integration of AI into mental health monitoring not only enhances diagnostic accuracy but also provides scalable solutions for reaching larger populations. By shifting from reactive tr...
